UNILATERAL VARIANT CERVICAL VERTEBRAL ARTERY – A CASE REPORT

Author: VINNAKOTA SUNITHA BHATTAM NARASINGA RAO

Category: Anatomy

Abstract:

During routine dissection of a 60year old male cadaver, we observed an atypical origin and course of the left vertebral artery. We found an additional branch arising from the arch of aorta, which was located in between the left common carotid artery and left subclavian artery. This variant left verterbral artery ascended through the foramen transversarium of third cervical vertebra.
