HYDATID CYSTS OF THE ABDOMEN AND PELVIS – A CASE REPORT

Abstract:

Hydatid disease is still an important health hazard in the world. It is a parasitic infestation which is endemic in India. To evaluate the clinical appearance and treatment in a patient with postoperative recurrence of hydatid cysts. This case report reviewed the ultrasonographic (USG) and Computed tomography (CT) features with the help of esaote USG machine and SIEMEMS SOMATOM 16 slice CT machine. Due to the less invasiveness and high accuracy of USG and CT in the diagnosis of hydatid cyst, it is the method of choice. Complete removal of cyst by surgery is required.
