Abstract:
Educational Technology plays an important role in learning facilitation for improving educational system. An effective, long lasting learning needs various technology and modern aids to be implemented in medical education. The effective technology of 3 dimensional printing had entered into the modern context of medical education. 3D printing is more appropriate to create various models for the purposes of teaching as well as training due to accuracy and physical representation of a processed data acquired from various sources such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT). The educational research with respect to 3D printing technology and its practical and theoretical beneï¬ts in teaching and training can be identiï¬ed and implemented as full-fledged in medical education. Patient specific models with exact anatomy from imaging data set will significantly improve the knowledge and skills of future surgeons. This narrative review focuses on technical steps involved in 3D printing, primary research, utility of 3D printing in teaching, surgical training, implementation of the technology in medical education and as a supplement for traditional learning approaches.
