The Kerotocystic odontogenic tumor represents 5% of odontogenic cyst of jaws. The tumor is locally destructive, has a high recurrence rate and an association with basal cell nevus syndrome. Controversy exists regarding the most appropriate surgical intervention and the subsequent influence on rate of recurrence.
